BY SALON TODAY MAGAZINE
LINCOLNSHIRE, IL (January 2009) –
Streetsboro’s Studio Wi
sh "hair colour café" owned by Rowena & Eric
Yeager, recently was named one of the 200 fastest-growing salons
by Salon Today magazine, a top business publication for the
professional beauty industry.
The magazine’s ninth annual
Salon Today 200 profiled the selected salons in its January
2009 issue. The 200 salons were selected from applications submitted
by Salon Today readers, who represent the 25,000
top-producing salons in the country. The magazine honored the
applicants who posted the highest increases in gross sales between
2007 and 2008, and who were on track to increase sales significantly
in 2009.
"Salon Today 200 owners
are the salon industry’s cream of the crop," said Laurel Smoke,
editor of Salon Today. "These owners pursue education, devise
creative marketing plans and offer promotions in order to keep their
businesses competitive and appealing to savvy clients."

Fashion Rebuild
Salon owners and stylists from Ohio, Mississippi and
Maryland rallied together on March 26, in Solon, Ohio, for “Fashion
Rebuild,” an event that raised more than $13,000 to help salons and
stylists in the Gulf Coast rebuild their businesses and lives.
About 100 people attended the semi-formal event, including
guest speaker, Lisa Cochran, from the Gulf Coast. Cochran owns two
salons in Mississippi, one of which was hit by Hurricane Katrina. The
night also included a fashion show with clothing designed by Pinky’s Daily
Planner of Cleveland, and free beauty products by Mantra Corporation and
Qtica were given to all attendees.
“Fashion Rebuild was a huge success,” said Rowena
Yeager, owner of Studio Wish Salon, in Ohio, and
chairperson of the event. “All proceeds from the event go directly to the
Beauty Associations for Katrina Relief Fund, an alliance of salon industry
associations that have united to aid salons affected by Katrina.”

STREETSBORO -
Fred Geis has been named Citizen of the Year by the Streetsboro Area
Chamber of Commerce during its annual award dinner held
Wednesday.
The award was one of three presented. Besides the
Citizen of the Year Award, the other awards are Small Business Person of
the Year, which was presented to Rowena Yeager of Studio Wish Salon &
Colour Café, and the
Image Award - which was presented to one business and one development -
Eat ‘N Park and Liberty Corners.
Geis, president of Geis
Construction Co., was thrilled with the honor. His recognition was for his
array of business, developmental, financial, educational, service and
philanthropic contributions to the region.
Always busy with the
company, Geis could not be reached for comment after receiving the award,
but his secretary said he and the company were very happy that Geis was
recognized, adding Geis works hard to help the community and is very proud
to work with the city.
Yeager, too, was honored
to be recognized, quickly adding that the award is a joint effort of her
staff, herself and her husband, Eric, whom she calls “the backbone of the
company” as he performs many bookkeeping duties.
Eat N
Park was selected for the company’s contributions to the community and
Liberty Corners was selected for its architecturally coordinated
establishments - “a representation of the new Streetsboro,” according to
the Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce.
